Built in 1959, this lovely car was initially used as a dealer's demonstrator as confirmed by the Heritage Certificate and copy of the warranty form on file.
She is finished in her original colour of Iris Blue with dark blue trim and has an excellent hood and tonneau cover.
The car has an uprated 1098cc engine with a ported and polished 12G295 cylinder head, twin 1/1/4" SU carbs., 3 branch exhaust manifold and 'free flow' exhaust system. Instrumentation includes a 0-7000rpm electronic tacho & period style ammeter.
The suspension is modified with a H/D anti-roll bar at the front and adjustable telescopic shock absorber at the rear with genuine 15 leaf rear springs. Disc brakes and 'Aeroquip' hoses ensures she stops as well as she goes!
Other desirable extras include a stainless steel luggage rack, chrome wire wheels and a beautiful 'Motalita' woodrim steering wheel.
She goes well, handles well and sounds terrific!

   264 JTJ Sebring Sprite
First registered on the 3rd June 1959, this Frogeye was modified by its first owner to 'Sebring' specification once out of warranty and raced successfully in the 1960’s with a 998cc – Formula Junior – engine.
It later returned to road use and gained a factory recon. 1275cc engine with big valve Cooper ‘S’ cylinder head and 1275 gearbox to match.
Over the years it has been further modified to keep it in top condition for road/ rally/ track-day use.
Please download the full specification here.
The full ownership history is known from new and I personally owned and ran this car from 2003 to 2007. Having driven many Frogeye Sprites over the years, this really is one of the very best; fast, safe, reliable. A lot of fun!

Still carrying the original (and valuable) registration from July 1960, this Frogeye has one of the best original and un-restored body shells we have seen for many years.
However as the quality of the previous paintwork did not quite match the standard of the shell, we have decided to strip it down for a top class re-spray.
We will re-trim it all (in black) and fit a pair of the correct Frogeye seats, so raising the standard of the whole car. The photos will be updated as soon as the work is finished.
With a modified and up-rated 1098cc engine with larger (1 ¼”) SU carbs, the performance is already faster than most, with a very healthy 80psi oil pressure.
Other extras include disc brakes; anti roll bar; electric washers; alloy rocker box and virtually new front bumper assembly. This frogeye also has a new hood and very good side screens.

Built in July 1960, this Frogeye comes with a very comprehensive history file of old invoices, MoT certificates, photos of it’s restoration in the early 1990’s, and two charming and informative letters from previous owners. In addition the Heritage Certificate shows it was originally sold via Carey & Lambert Ltd. in Southampton, whose enamel badge is still attached to the dashboard some 50 years later!
The professional restoration (about 20 years ago) was comprehensive and included new floors, inner and outer sills, A posts, rear wings and more. Although still solid, the paintwork is now looking ‘tired’ and although we were planning to strip it to a rolling shell, for inspection and re-spray in Old English White again, last year, we have simply been too busy with customer Frogeyes to do this, so have decided to sell her as she is.
Mechanically it has more recently been fitted with a ‘fast road’ 948cc engine with uprated camshaft, modified (and ‘unleaded’) cylinder head, lightened and balanced flywheel, larger (1 ¼”) SU carbs. & 3 branch exhaust manifold. Further upgrades include front disc brakes and wire wheels.
This is a much quicker than average Frogeye that will increase substantially in value with some time and ‘tlc’.
